This hands-on workshop with Gerold Schneider introduces distant reading techniques for large-scale textual analysis, including classification, keyword detection, word embeddings, topic modeling, visualization, and transformer-based approaches. Participants will explore applications across political, historical, medical, and literary texts, experiment with LLMs both online and locally, and are encouraged to bring their own datasets and research questions for discussion.
