In this session, the speaker will discuss Yasashii Nihongo, or plain and compassionate Japanese, which is rapidly becoming a popular means of communication with foreign residents in Japan, particularly among local governments. The talk will focus on his activities with students in a seminar at Meiji University to promote its use across various sectors, including municipal governments, schools, businesses, and local residents.

We will explore how DLA can more effectively and reliably measure and assess students' Japanese language skills. The future practical implications of DLA across different educational sectors will also be provided.
