Language Learning Partners Program
In collaboration with Brisbane South State Secondary College (BSSSC), UQ’s School of Languages and Cultures is offering a Language Learning Partners Program for UQ students to support Year 7 to 10 language lessons at the school.
We are calling for Expressions of Interest from students studying Chinese or Spanish language, or who are native and heritage speakers of Chinese or Spanish, who wish to extend their skills in language, communication, and social interaction with diverse groups. This is a great way to use your language skills to support your local community, and to gain insights into working with young people in school settings.
UQ students who volunteer as a Language Learning Partner will work under the guidance of partnered schools dedicated language teachers, speaking to secondary students in the target language in small group settings. This experience can contribute towards the UQ Employability Award.
