Find your starting point
Go to our online language course placement advisor and answer a short questionnaire. In most cases the system will recommend the starting course you should enrol in. For more complex cases, you will be advised how to proceed.

Susan Garson
Bachelor of Arts (German)/ Bachelor of Education dual degree
Masters of Educational Studies
Susan received a job offer before her graduation ceremony and started work as a high school teacher straight away.
After completing her masters she was able to teach as a tutor at a University, which then led onto her next challenge of becoming the Director of International Studies at Brisbane Girls Grammar School. Her role includes teaching German, organizing and travelling on overseas exchanges with students, curriculum development and monitoring of assessment, as well as staff management of one of the largest language faculties in Queensland.
BULA and Cross-Institutional Students
If you are a student at the University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology or Griffith University, you can study any of the following languages and the major or electives will be credited back at your home university: Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish.
