Author Talk and Book Reading: The Festival of Ice and Snow by Angie Cui
Translation Workshop with Angie Cui, with her upcoming book The Festival of Ice and Snow. The English source text will be provided on the day. Angie will primarily lead the group discussion for English-to-Chinese translation, while the organisers will focus on English-to-Japanese translation. Participants who translate from English to other languages are also more than welcome.

About the presenter
Angie Cui (aka Yanting Cui 崔彦婷) is a Melbourne-based author passionate about children's literature. Her writing has appeared in ABC Everyday, SBS Voices, The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald and more. Born in Harbin, China, she moved to Australia at 18 to study Accounting at Deakin University. Angie is a member of the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA), the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI), Writers Victoria, and the Australian Society of Authors (ASA).
Angie's debut picture book My Mum is a Bird (UQP) was published in April, followed by Our Map (Wombat Books) in June. She draws inspiration from her multicultural family – Australian, Bangladeshi, and Chinese – and enjoys weaving languages, food, and cultural experiences into her stories. Angie hopes to create books that allow children from diverse backgrounds to see themselves reflected in the pages.
