2. Converting the Mudburra dictionary into e-dictionaries

Project duration:

4 weeks (21 June-23 July)

Description:

This project will involve converted the Mudburra dictionary into e-dictionaries with images and a click and hear function which will be hosted online.

Expected outcomes and deliverables:

Summer Research scholars will gain hands on experience in using dictionary-making software common to field linguistics. They will also become familiar with linguistic annotation tools and elicitation methodologies. The end result will be five searchable, talking e-dictionaries transcripts.

This project is open to applications from advanced students with a background in Linguistics and an interest in fieldwork, and Australian languages. Indigenous applicants are particularly encouraged to apply.
