The UQ Confucius Institute and the Tourism Confucius Institute at Griffith University co-hosted the Queensland Preliminary 'Chinese Bridge' Chinese Proficiency Competition on the 14th May at Griffith University.
Students of Chinese from Queensland competed in 3 categories; 'Cultural Knowlegde', 'Oral Presentation' and 'Cultural Arts Performance' for a place in the finals.
The competition was open to both university and non-university contestants from Queensland, who competed as part of the international competition.
10 students from UQ won places in this preliminary round, with place winners in all categories plus 1st, 2nd and 3rd 'All Round' place winners from UQ.
The top students from the competition will travel to the international grand final in China in July on a 1 month all expenses paid Confucius Institute scholarship.
