School of Languages and Cultures Associate Professor Tomoko Aoyama has been awarded a Visiting Fellowship from Waseda University.
Associate Professor Aoyama will spend three weeks in March 2016 at Waseda University in Tokyo as a Visiting Scholar, supported by Professor Ikuo Kawakami of the Graduate School of Japanese Applied Linguistics department.
"I look forward to working in their Library and Tsubouchi Memorial Theatre Museum, collecting data for my project on older women's humour in contemporary Japanese literature, film and theatre," said Associate Professor Aoyama.
Waseda is one of UQ's most active exchange partners and Professor Kwakami is an Honorary Professor at the School of Languages and Cultures.
Associate Professor Aoyama hopes that her visit will add another page to the already well developed exchange history with Waseda.
