Speaker: Dr Andrew Harvey, Australian Infectious Diseases Research Centre

Dr Andrew Harvey is Head of Strategic Partnerships (QEDDI) at UniQuest, where he leads QEDDI’s national and international engagement and supports UQ’s strategic initiatives in therapeutics and vaccines. Previously as Senior Director and Head of QEDDI (2016-2020), Dr Harvey led the establishment of this university-based drug discovery centre. Prior to joining UniQuest, Dr Harvey was the Vice President of Drug Discovery at Bionomics Ltd (2010-2016), a publicly-listed Australian biotech developing new treatments in oncology, CNS and inflammatory disease. Previously, Dr Harvey was an NHMRC Industry Fellow at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (Melbourne, Australia), where his research focused on autoimmune disease. Dr Harvey completed his doctorate in biological chemistry at the University of Canterbury in 2000. Today’s presentation will draw on Dr Harvey’s research undertaken in 2022 as part of a Master in Public Health.

Mr Harvey will be presenting in English. Consecutive interpreting into Japanese will be provided.

Guest speakers are invited to present on a range of topics in English, Chinese or Japanese, with our masters students providing consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. Forums are free and open to anyone who wishes to attend.
