Celebrating excellence in teaching and learning

Congratulations to School of Languages and Cultures Dr Adriana Diaz, Dr Peter Crosthwaite and Dr Nantana TaptamatĀ on receiving awards for excellence in teaching and tutoring at the annual Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Teaching and Learning Awards.

Recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award Dr Adriana Diaz is a Senior Lecturer and Spanish Discipline Coordinator who has been involved in teaching across Applied Linguistics, English, Italian and Spanish language programs in Australian higher education for nearly two decades.

Senior Lecturer in Applied LinguisticsĀ Dr Peter Crosthwaite has also received the Teaching Excellence Award at the annual award ceremony. Dr Croswaite has shared his extensive knowledge of corpus linguistics and the use of corpora for language learning (known as 'data-driven learning'), as well as English for General and Specific Academic Purposes with the School since 2017.

Tutor Award recipient Dr Nantana Taptamat has been a dedicated educator for over a decade, leading and collaborating on projects in several national and international awards while developing transdisciplinary communication and teamwork skills.

The awards recognise outstanding examples of sustained excellence in teaching and tutoring with a commitment to ensuring students graduate with the intellectual, analytical and communication skills to navigate their way through, and positively shape the evolution of the social world.
