Congratulations to the School of Languages and Cultures Dr Isaac Lee and Dr Min Jung Jee who applied for funding through the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) and were successful. They will receive $968,000 for five years for the project titled 'Developing UQ as a Central Hub for nurturing the next generation of Korean Studies education, research and regional cooperation for Queensland and the Northern Territory, Australia.'
The Academy of Korean Studies is a South Korean research and educational institute with the purpose of establishing profound research on Korean culture. The Academy is dedicated to interpreting and analysing Korean culture in general, defining the academic identity of Korean studies, and educating scholars.
Dr Isaac Lee is the Project Director and Dr Min Jung Jee Deputy Project Director.This is an amazing achievement for the School's Korean Studies Centre.
