Researcher biography

Dr Chang is Lecturer in Chinese at the University of Queensland. She earned her PhD in Linguistics in 2013. The PhD thesis is entitled ‘face and face practices in Chinese talk-in-interactions: an empirical analysis of business interactions in Taiwan’, which focuses on the interactional aspect of face in business contexts in Chinese. She is also involved in the research project of Humour in Taiwan funded by Chiang-Ching Kuo foundation for three years (2016-2019), aiming to study the norms and practices of humour in Taiwan.
