Professor Heejin Lee will talk about cultural differences, the characteristics of Korean enterprise culture, a comparison between Korean and Australian cultures, and opportunities to work in Korea. His talk is based on observations while hosting Australian students.
About the speaker
Professor Heejin Lee is Professor at the Graduate School of International Studies, Yonsei University. He has a multidisciplinary background: BA in management and MA in sociology at Seoul National University, and PhD in information systems at London School of Economics. He was a faculty member at the University of Melbourne and Brunel University, UK. He was a visiting professor at the Hitotsubashi Innovation Institute, Japan. He is leading the ‘Centre for Australian Studies’ and a board member of the Korea-Australia Foundation. He is running the ‘Digital Trade Research Centre’ and ‘Digital Trade Education Program’. He conducted a project of KDI’ KSP (Korea Development Institute Knowledge Sharing Program) titled ‘Australia-Korea partnership on Critical Technology and Digital Economies focusing on Standardization’. His area of expertise includes Political economy/Geopolitics of Standards. He is a Mercator Fellow of a German National Research Foundation (2024~2026) project on Internationalization Strategies for Digital Standards.
