Go Borderless: Languages Experience Day

UQ School of Languages and Cultures are excited to invite year 9s onto campus for a day of fun, creativity and cultural experiences. Schools are welcome to bring up to 30 current language students, especially those eager to deepen their interest and enthusiasm for languages.

Date: Tuesday 14 July 2026
Time: 9.30am - 2.00pm
Year levels: This event is open to year 9s currently studying one or more languages, or linguistics.
Location: UQ St Lucia 

No lunch will be provided; students are encouraged to bring their own or can purchase food on campus. 

Registrations

Registrations open mid-March 2026 - this page will be updated with the registration link once available.

Teachers will be asked to provide contact details, along with students’ names, email addresses and their top three language preferences from the sessions listed below. Each student will be allocated two sessions based on their preferences.

Teachers and students will receive a detailed agenda prior to the event.

8:30am - Registration

9:30am - Welcome session

9:40am - Language is your Employability Superpower session

10:20am – Breakout session 1**

11:10am - Morning Tea

11:40am – Breakout session 2

12:30pm – Lunch

1:10pm – Closing

1:45pm - Reflection, prizes and wrap up

2:00pm – Schools depart
