Early Candidature Checkpoint

HDR candidates and their Principal Advisors are required to complete an Early Candidature Checkpoint 3-6 months into PhD candidature, or 2-3 months into MPhil Candidature (if full-time). This should be done during a regular supervisory meeting. More detail, including the forms for student and advisor, can be found here.

Progress Reviews

Candidates are required to complete progress reviews annually during full-time PhD candidature (twice a year for MPhil). These reviews provide an opportunity for structured feedback from a panel including the candidate’s advisors as well as other academics. The requirements and guidelines for Progress reviews, tailored specifically to SLC candidates, can be found here.

School Reseach and Conference Support

The School provides research and conference support for confirmed HDR students to cover essential costs of their research and expenses related to presenting their research at conferences. The maximum amount of funding is $4,000 for PhD students and $2,500 for MPhil students, over the course of their candidature. The guideline and application form is available here
